B Corp Positive Impact Report cover

In 2023, we certified as a B Corp with an overall B Impact score of 97.5 — an achievement that has been pivotal in shaping our role within the broader ESG ecosystem.

B Corp certification has not only provided us with a framework to improve the impact of our own business, but also strengthened our commitment to supporting our portfolio companies on their ESG journeys. We believe that aligning to good ESG practices is essential to building strong, sustainable and prosperous businesses that have a positive impact on both people and the planet.

In 2024, we focused on developing the internal capabilities needed to guide our portfolio on their ESG journeys, investing in strategies that ensure sustainable growth and long-term resilience.

Some key highlights from our first year as a B Corp include:

  • Voluntarily publishing our first climate report, in line with the recommendations of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Through this process, we fortified our policy, governance, strategy, and the underlying metrics and targets necessary to manage the existential threat of climate change to both our firm and portfolio.
  • Receiving external recognition for our work internally on diversity and inclusion, achieving the ENEI Gold Standard Award – ranking sixth out of 185 companies, and first out of 10 financial services firms.
  • Bringing the total donations by the BGF Foundation to charities supporting young people, across 2023 and 2024, to £835k.
  • Delivering ESG workshops and webinars to a cohort of our portfolio businesses.

In our first B Corp Positive Impact Report, we dive deeper into our journey and progress in five core areas of B Corp certification: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.
